Went to the Festival of Speed recently. Took my oldest digi camera, which only really served to show me how crappy it is compared to some. It's quite impossible to snap cars on the move because it's so slow. Next time I'll take a better one.
Sammy Miller. Don't you love that the background is in focus, but the bike isn't? Bah!
Aaron Slight, on the RC45 Honda.
Aaron Slight, in the paddock. It's such a cool event when you can see these guys up close, and chat to them (if that's your thing). Neil Hodgson and David McGuiness also there, amongst other riding deities.
Got to love these JPS colour schemes. Lotus was the celebrated marque this year at the FOS, so saw lots of this type of thing.
Absolutely stunning.
Arrggghhh! I've overcooked it in this one-of-a-kind-car!
Bugger.
Save the T-cut jokes.
Bit of arty-farty photo editing.
A bit more:
Some cracking rally cars went up the hill as well as appearing on the stage:
And some absolutely lovely old things too. Blower Bentley Le Mans:
Modern stuff too:
But the old stuff is just lovely - the size of those rear tyres!:
And the really old stuff is just lovely too!:
Some of the more interesting supercars. Thing is, you'd think that a million quids worth of Veyron would be interesting, but it's dull compared to pretty well all the race cars - it just looks such a bloated thing. Clearly fast though!
Cobras - 50yr anniversay. It's real one!:
Daytona:
Thundersaloons were cool. I remember reading about the 'Stars and Stripes' in an old Custom Car magazine when I was a kid. Chevy engined Opel Manta:
6 Litre Carlton:
Zakspeed Capri - pretty well a Turbo Era F1 engine in this:
