Went to the Bromley Pageant of Motoring a couple of weekends ago. I remember this being a really good show with some of the bigger club stands being really something. Unfortunately this isn't the case anymore - the show still seems really large, but the quality has really dropped off. Here's my photos from the morning I spent there:
Altogether now "I ain't getting on no plane fool!"
Admire the engineering - like the USD forks fattening up the front end, but overall, I'm not 100% sold on this one.
CBX1000 - want one of these. 6 across the frame.
Triton. Odd looking seat unit (should be a single seater), but cool nonetheless.
Nicely modded Sprite
Cool Rod
Cool car this.
But not as.... V8 Aston.
Aston Martin had the best club stand.
Worth a fair bit, I'd say..
Er. Back to the worst of the 70's for this van
80's Delorean. Sports car with a Volvo engine? What was he thinking?
Butch Disco
Mark 1 Land Rover. Super rare like this.
Cool transparent engine cover in this Mini. The engine cover is a sort of nasty back cardboardy thing as standard.
Jaguar 420G. I'd love one of these. I'd take the family out picnicking in it.
Very smart MGB.
MX5 Turbo
RS500. Rare if it's a real one.
Nobody likes to see a Porsche with an RAC van in attendance.
It's a 2 litre Mondeo. Why would you do this to it? Why would you do anything at all to it?
Should have built this first instead of the limp-wristed TR7
First time out for this estate. Check the exhaust just behind the front wheel.
Alfasud with 302 Ford engine. Rocker covers look good!
Jensens. I love the Interceptor. Would make a nice pairing with my bike!

What a small block Ford should look like.
Anyway, I took these, whipped round the trade stalls and came away. I went off to watch the TVR Challenge at Brands Hatch. I wouldn't have gone, but Bromley was such a let down, that I had the rest of the day to kill. At Brands I met Nick who is the regional co-ordinator for the Kent TVR Car Club. He explained that the Pageant had started charging car clubs to display at the Pageant, so there was much less interest in people going and club setting up great pitches. I do recall last time I went, the TVRs were next to the Cobra club and there being lots of good natured banter between them - and an engine sound off too! Nothing like that this year. I won't be going again I don't think.
