Went to Shelsley Walsh a couple of weekends ago. The meeting is called 'The Big One', and features many of the top hillclimb cars in the UK.
Some pics:
Sometimes the car park is where to find interesting and beautiful cars.
See?
Looked a proper hardcore Cob rep, not one of those tart's handbag jobbies.
Don't see many of these.
Lovely.
Unlovely, but still...
Moving to the paddock:
4.5 litre turbo TR7. No hairdresser here.
Quattro - lots of pops and bangs.
Griff.
E-type - sounded gorgeous.
The OMS 'Works' car. Single seater.
Here.
Gone.
Smart car. Proper engine.
Dax Rush 2.5l V6, and lots of development.
Single seaters.
More paddock
Unlucky colour scheme that.
More paddock
500cc racers.
Noble - I like these.
Morgan - sounded good. Note filters through the bonnet. Proper grunt from this old man's motor!
More paddock
View down the hill - this is about 2/3 of the way up.
Fastest man in UK on the hills.
Big Healey on the hill.
Lovely little Lotus
Mini Marcos
Oops. Morgan in the scenery. Everyone OK. (Apart from the car).
Quick car. Not sure why the fastest cars are open wheeled. I thought that there are aerodynamic advantages in a full body. Anyway, this one made the top twelve run off.
That's it really. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Drove the TVR there and back, roof off all the time. Tidy.
